The photos that I took in 1978 were 35mm slides. In 1982, my Asia trip slides were stored on the windward side of Oahu. A fungus attacked them and also I didn't clean them properly before scanning them several years ago.
The chartered flight for me began at LAX. There were stops in in Oakland, where we experienced an aborted take off, Seattle, and Anchorage. Because of the aborted take off, the jet did not have enough fuel to make it to Hong Kong, so we had an unscheduled, uncleared stop in Taiwan for fuel. Chinese passengers who were going to Taiwan via Hong Kong were very upset that they could not get off in Taipei instead of flying to Honk Kong then taking a connecting flight to Taiwan.
