We passed scenes like these two, then drove through the main drag until we arrived at Are Manuiri in Areora.

I went out from Are Manuiri riding the motor scooter to take photographs.

I didn't go to the left.......I went to the right through the community's main road.

Down by the turn is the bank, Star Travel, and one of the two stores.
I took this photo (and some others) to show how, even though this community is on a mountain top, one isn't constantly reminded of it because of the trees and vegetation growing up from the depressions. Notice how the land drops a short distance behind the stores.

Farther down the road is the Catholic Church and the grandstands that are now being built for the big Millennium New Years celebration.
