Kanaloa

...

Kanaloa's Safari has been postponed for a year. The same overall plan will be used for 2005...the prices and dates will change. The PFP's sponsor will finance the safari.

The Imagination Page

...(I'll be adding to this page).

It's October 23rd. I must put my energy into generating the funding for Kanaloa's Safari. Once that is done, then I can continue with my painting and web site work and prepare to leave Kauai for the mainland around December 16th.

As you can see from my web site, I have a lot on of artistic options on my life's palette.

I am able to make the pages of this web site while on the "wing" so to speak. I have a fairly good photographic eye. I have experience and the time to travel and I love to do it my way. I am providing "free" entertainment...vicarious travel experiences to far-off places where the Internet viewer may never go. I have less than 250 MBs used of my 600 MB web site leaving plenty of room to work with during Kanaloa's Safari. Kanaloa will be in some, but certainly not too many of the photos on the resulting web pages.

The idea is to pay for Kanaloa's Safari with the palm frond faces and the Purple Feather People (PFP), of which Kanaloa is Number One, using the Internet.

There is a lot of Polihale energy and Aloha contained within each PFP. Just by being Polihale coconut palms from Kauai does something. Any PFP will receive special welcomes if they should return to Polihale.

The owner will be getting a lot more than just a simple painted palm frond...it is one of no more than 99 Purple Feather People. So far there are less than 33, those are from Polihale on the Polynesian island of Kauai. Each will have a web page and story. The story may be submitted by the owner to be put on the appropriate web page. But first there is the Polynesian PFP background history that I will write to set the stage.

Because owners of PFPs are a select few, there may not be very many readers of the stories if any are submitted. Of course, that will depend on who the owners and writers are. Imagine a celebrity such as ________________________being the proud owner of a PFP or two (with a nice framing or display). And it became known and__________________'s photo with PFP is on the PFP's page. There may be many more visitors to this web site than easily imagined. But PFP ownership is very exclusive. There are going to be only 20 PFPs available to put up for auction to finance Kanaloa's Safari.

...

...

It's October 25th. Imagine a variation of this remote possibility:

The owner of some establishment is alerted to this web site and decides to finance the whole Kanaloa's Safari and offers to buy 10 PFPs at $500 each to close the sales. The $5000 would finance Kanaloa's Safari. (Some of the remaining PFPs could be auctioned or sold if funds run out before the 80-day safari is completed). The sponsor of the safari would have an ad on all the Kanaloa Safari pages and each of the 10 PFPs pages. This ad will appear permanently as part of those pages. Also, I will create a web page of photos of the sponsor's establishment as part of my web site with a link from each of the pages on which its ad appears.

At the present time there are few regular visitors to this web site. I have not yet pursued the many methods of attracting new viewers.

***HERE***

November 20th. Timing is becoming a factor. I must get the $5000 very soon in order to begin preparations for Kanaloa's Safari. My idea is to use the Internet as a traveler might and accomplish this small miracle.

The small miracle could happen if an individual or business buys the Kanaloa's Safari Purple Feather People Package purchasing it via PayPal or by cashier's check. The package includes ten PFPs selected from the Bid Page by the owner. (After I have that money in the bank and have shipped the ten PFPs to their owner, I will begin purchasing these travel packages for the safari. The sponsor of the safari may have an ad on all the Kanaloa's Safari photo web pages and each of the 10 PFPs' pages. This ad will appear permanently as part of those pages. I will also make a web page for the sponsor and appropriate links as part of my web site.

[Anyone who wants to contact me by email at boomerangart@yahoo.com should put "PFP" or "Kanaloa" or "Polihale" or "Kauai" in the subject matter box so I don't just delete the email as spam by mistake. ("Hi, Boomer" and "your web site" show up on a lot of my spam so they get deleted unopened).]

I could receive an email from the sponsor/purchaser telling me that the Kanaloa's Safari package will be started with the purchase of ten PFPs and list their numbers. If that happens before I start putting individual PFPs or the package up for auction, $5000 closes the deal.

Why would anyone possibily go for such a thing...to spend $5000 for ten palm frond bases and sponsor some web pages? Maybe it could be an expensive joke gift...or ten gifts. It would certainly be different.

Back in the late 90s, Beau Bridges and family were at Polihale where I was painting early palm frond faces and masks. He wanted to buy one of the unfinished ones that I was working on. I said thanks, but no and told him of the gallery in Hanapepe that had some for sale. He bought two! He told Annette that he was going to send one to Lily Tomlin. True story. (If you know someone who knows him, ask them to tip him off to my web site...he might enjoy parts of it).

Well...the PFPs are a unique kind of art and their story is on the Internet right now. The whole thing is a trip. Maybe they will become collectors items. That would certainly be to the owner's advantage. I have also traveled and put a lot of photos on the Internet while doing so. The ones I put up on Kanaloa's Safari should be interesting...and FREE to viewers.

I am just one person doing all this stuff so time is an important factor. I would certainly appreciate any help viewers of this web site can give me by pointing possible sponsors in my direction. Back to work...Mahalo.

[It's August 2, 2004...I haven't actively been pursuing this plan on the net. I may be making revisions as time goes by, but if I get a sponsor soon, I can start making preparations for the safari sooner. I plan to leave for the mainland in December. I'm just adding to this imagination page, but, if anyone is interested...boomerangart@yahoo.com ]

........

SPONSOR/PRODUCER for boomerangart.com website

........

Somehow, I am going to get the funding for Kanaloa's Safari. This whole thing, including boomerangart.com, is a creation of mine. It's part of a life style I created for myself utilizing the Internet. Obviously, I'm not a businessman. I have no desire to spend my valuable time attempting to accumulate money. But, I do want to travel and that takes money.

I intend to keep boomerangart.com as a FREE website. In order to do this, I must find a sponsor/producer for the website. I will gladly exchange a one-year sponsorship of boomerangart.com for the payment of my business travel expenses (transportation, accommodations, increased web hosting costs, some equipment and supplies, and an occasional small pre diem).

(I am assuming that advertising is a tax-writeoff). The sponsorship may be "a lark" for someone with a sense of humor and intuition. The website is "educational" and I have the credentials and experience to back up that claim. The term of the sponsorship will be one year...from January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005.

The sponsor's logo/ad appears on website following "Sponsored by" on the index page, menu page and permanently on all Artmail pages during 2005. (Old Artmails remain as before...no ads or Sponsored bys). Life-Code Systems, Inc. will retain all copyrights. The Purple Feather People pages are retained by Boomerang Art. (The sponsor may have PFPs in possession which means each individual PFP's web page may include the sponsor's logo/ad).

The story line will develop during Kanaloa's Safari (I haven't updated that page, but it should be pretty close). The story line has to do with Boomerang Art's Blue Chip Challenge to be held in Australia in the future. The main feature of the Artmails will be Boomerang Art's digital photos posted in the boomerangart.com website's Artmails. Actually, the story line begins with whatever is already in the website.

Now, the creative part: Budget For Expenses . Last year, when estimating expenses of the safari, I averaged $62.50 per day for the 80-day safari. This year, some expenses will increase, but accommodations should hold considering that I plan to use the CouchSurfing.com network during my travels.

I estimate the minimum length for the safari is 80 days. But, for the Budget For Expenses, I am estimating a maximum of 100 days at US $100 per day. That would amount to $10,000 for the total travel budget. I do not want the cash, per se. The sponsor/producer will open a $10,000 debit card account with the Bank of Hawaii to be used by Life-Code Systems, Inc. and (Boomerang Art's legal name)...the sole signer/user of the debit card for the above expenses. The debit card may be used in ATM machines while traveling in foreign countries.

My track record for getting web pages of photographs while traveling is obvious from what is included in the boomerangart.com website.

How do the PFPs fit in to this plan? Well, Kanaloa is PFP 01, for one thing. Also, 20 PFPs may be used to finance Kanaloa's Safari. The sponsor will be able to choose 10 of the remaining PFPs to hold during the term of the contract as insurance that the 2005 Artmails do get published in boomerangart.com.
