Aloha all...

Hawaiian music and the ukulele are joined together. Among ukulele musicians, Ohta-San is considered The Master. A feature article was published in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin last February at the time of Ohta-San's 2006 Lifetime Achievement Award. Read it HERE. Ohta-San has played at all the Kauai Ukulele Festivals and this one is the fourth. Clifford and I went to Kukui Grove to listen to ukulele talent and to put out names in for the drawings for seven ukuleles...(valued up to $700...with cases). Both of us wanted to win, of course, but we would have felt real good if Ilde won. I hadn't seen Ilde in over a year...he had been eating a lot since quitting smoking. He was working on a construction near-by and they called off work because of rain so he showed up at the Ukulele Festival.
