One of the unexpected things that visitors may notice on the reefs are dogs catching fish to eat. There are a lot of dogs on Rarotonga and they learn how to get their own food. Here are two zoom shots of fishing dogs.

In about the 13th century, a Samoan chief, named Karika and a chief from Tahiti, Tangiia Nui, joined forces at sea then conquered Rarotonga's earlier inhabitants. This artwork on the side of a building at Tereora College tells the story.
