I am now at Tashi's and online so this is going to be short. Yesterday after getting online I went to Kolo's. Betsy, Rick, Bear, Alysha, baby Christian, and other people were outside under the tree, so I, feeling that I had art work to do, got two more of the 12 palm fronds and sanded and prepared them for painting. Then I decided to put a face on The Alein. He's accepted by the Purple Feather People as one of them, He paints his brows and nose yellow, his lips with the accepted red and wears the appropriate headpiece, but he is unable to make a feather out of his palm. So, he has to use a real one. The feather had done its job. Someone's dog, that shouldn't have been loose there, was a chicken-killer. I have a bunch of chikens that hang around my setup at Cane Top Pavilion. Through the Keawe, right in front of me, and then off past the shower, that rooster was chased by the dog. It looked like the Rooster was a goner when the dog grabbed him, but then I saw him running of with only one white feather in his tail. The dog had his tail feathers around him and in his mouth. This isn't the one tail feather he paraded around with proudly as the new feathers grew out. This feather is one of the one's the dog pulled out...I guess it's a dog-feather. Anyway, I'm going to paint it violet or maybe purple. Oh, yes...the ears...his kind have them sticking out like that, but Alein's skin color is GOLD!
This morning, I painted his face with some brilliant metalic acrylic gold then took a photograph or two. below is the before and after...so far:
